William "Hubert" Edward Barnett

William “Hubert” Edward Barnett, 74, of Lenoir passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 at his home, following a period of declining health.

Hubert was born November 3, 1951 in Lenoir, NC to the late William “Jeff” Barnett and Beulah Day Barnett. He worked for thirty nine years at Lenoir Mirror and enjoyed fishing in his free time. Hubert was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his siblings, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie Barnett, Charlie Barnett, Raby Barnett, James Barnett, and Tony Barnett; and sisters, Annie Barnett Carlton, and Mabel Barnett Hollifield.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty five years, Teresa Jennings Barnett of the home; sons, Bobby Barnett of the home, and Shane Barnett and wife Tina of Hickory; daughter, Christie Barnett of the home; grandchildren, Teresa Barnett (Zeke McMillan), Katie Barnett, Billy Barnett, Jacob Barnett(Kyera Barnett) of Kentucky, Caleb Poythress of Virginia, Brianna Barnett (Johnaton Essary ) of Lenoir; nine great grandchildren, Evan Barnett, Bella McMillan, Cory Townsend, Caleb Townsend, Oliver Essary, Aubrey Essary, Colt Essary, Nolan McMillan, and Parker McMillan.
