Wanda Smith Shivers

Wanda Ann Smith Shivers, 73, of Lenoir, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Wanda was born on August 6, 1952, in Caldwell County to the late Millard Vance Smith and Annie Mae Bumgarner Smith. She was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant at Lenoir Healthcare, where she brought comfort and care to many. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lenoir, and her faith was a guiding light in her life. Above all, she cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, finding joy in the time she spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Thad Eugene Smith, Tallie Junior Smith, Fred Smith, and Haywood Smith; her sisters, Geraldine Kaylor, Hester Pennell, and Rosetta Smith; and her son-in-law, Allen Huddleston.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Doris Huddleston of Lenoir, Frances Nicole Shivers of Lenoir, and Matthew Paul Shivers of Lenoir; her sister, Rachel S. Cook of Hudson; her stepsister, Beulah Eller of Hudson; also surviving eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 13, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church in Lenoir, with Rev. Clyde Bumgarner and Rev. Derick Lingerfelt officiating. Interment will follow in the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Faith Baptist Church.
