Vickie Elaine Taylor Claytor

Mrs. Vickie Elaine Taylor Claytor, 74, of Hickory went to rest peacefully with the Lord on Tuesday September 22, 2026, at her residence.

Vickie was born on July 30, 1952, in Caldwell County to the late Haywood Taylor and Thelma Martin Taylor. Vickie was a girl of summer, full of warmth, laughter, and a heart that felt deeply. She laughed easily and cried easily, never afraid to show the love and emotion she carried within her. Above all, Vickie treasured her family, and the love she shared with them was her greatest gift. She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of those around her and for the love that will remain in their hearts forever.

In addition to her mother and father Vickie is preceded in death by her loving husband Gordon Claytor and her best friend and brother Russell Cline.

Those left to cherish the memory of Vickie include, her sister; Margie Burchette of Granite Falls, Nieces; Pamela Cline of Granite Falls, Janet Serrano of Statesville, Sandy Burchette of Granite Falls, Nephews; William Burchette and wife Kathy of Granite Falls and Jeffrey Burchette and wife Tracy of Granite Falls, Also surviving are their God children. Coleman Cline and his wife Crystal of lenoir and their family and April Friesland and Husband Shawn of happy valley and their family.

A private burial of Ashes will take place at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls.

In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be written out to the Hickory Museum of Art at 243 3rd Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
