Terry Lee Stamey

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Terry Lee Stamey, 56, of Drexel, NC, who left this world peacefully on October 30th, 2025. Terry was a kind hearted man whose quiet strength and warm presence made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Terry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Arrie and Shirley Stamey, and his brother, Ted Stamey. Though he experienced great loss in life, he continued to live with resilience, generosity, and love. He is survived by his devoted brother, Joey Stamey and wife, Tina, who stood by him with love and unwavering support always. Terry was a proud and caring uncle to Kristena Buff and husband, Allen; Victoria Huffman and husband, Danny; Destiny Johnson and husband, Hunter; Mackenzie Stamey; and Anderson Stamey. He also adored his great-nieces & nephew — Rayanne Buff, Mila Buff, and Waylon Johnson — who brought joy and light into his life. Terry shared many years with his loving longtime partner, Linda Swink, who remained faithfully by his side through life’s joys and challenges, along with their dog, Missy, who was never too far behind him and always ready to follow him wherever he went. He spent much of his working life at Omara Inc., where he built strong friendships and earned the respect of those who worked alongside him. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time at the river, weekend flea market trips, and hosting BBQs for friends and family. Terry will be remembered for his infectious smile, his loyalty to family, and the love he carried in his heart. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he leaves behind will forever remain a cherished part of each life he touched. May he rest easy in the arms of those who went before him. A celebration of Terry’s life will take place at a later date, where family and friends can gather to share memories and honor him. Details will be shared once arrangements are made.
