Granite Falls

Teddy Darrell Wilson, 64, of Granite Falls, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday July 20, 2026 at Amorem Forlines in Hudson following a courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease.

Teddy was born on November 5, 1961 in Catawba County to Christine Rowell Wilson and the late George Darrell Wilson. He was a devoted member of Dry Ponds Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon and contributed to the church’s FISH program. He found his joy in the outdoors, pursuing his passions for fishing, hunting and his hobby of shark tooth hunting, and was also a gun enthusiast. In his professional life, he held the position of President at Sipes Carving Shop in Hickory, but more importantly, he loved his family and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Tippy Wade Wilson and his sister, Deborah Wilson Haynes.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Robin Mitcham Wilson of the home; two children, Teddy Derek Wilson of Sawmills and Tara Wilson Kennedy and husband Matthew, Teddy’s “side kick” of Wilmington; two granddaughters, Quinn Kennedy and Mila Kennedy who were his pride and joy; his nephew, Trent Haynes of Hickory; his sister, Jeannie Wilson of Granite Falls; and his childhood friend who was like a brother, Donnie Smith and wife Sarah of Hudson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday July 23, 2026 from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Dry Ponds Baptist Church.

A Funeral Service will follow at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday at Dry Ponds Baptist Church, with Rev. Rob Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Dry Ponds Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Trent Haynes, Matthew Kennedy, Michael Teague, Eddie Wilson, Nathan Haynes, Donnie Potter, Dennis Wilson and Josh Kennedy; honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Smith, Terry Harrison and Tony Ramsey.
