Tammy Moretz (Fincannon)

Tammy Moretz (Fincannon), 63 of Granite Falls, passed away December 27, 2025 at her residence.

Tammy was born on August 14, 1962 in Catawba County, to the late Ray Finley Moretz and Carolyn Starnes Clark. Tammy was a beacon of faith and compassion, whose love for animals knew no bounds-she never met a stray she didn’t want to help. Her passions included music and dancing, which brought joy to both her and those around her. Following the death of her husband, Tammy’s unwavering faith provided her strength and solace. She will be remembered as a kind and compassionate soul who has now found eternal peace with the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Timothy Lee Fincannon.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Myra Fincannon of Charlotte; her sisters, Vickie Andrews and husband Keith and Debbie Shufford both of Taylorsville; her half-brother, Dusty Hefner and wife Mandy of Hickory; her niece, Heather Darch and husband Max of Wake Forest; her aunts, Brenda Bolick and Delane Bentley; her uncles, Pete Starnes and Sam Starnes; also surviving are numerous cousins and family members who loved her.

A Service to celebrate Tammy’s life will announced after arrangements have been finalized.

The last few years of Tammy’s life presented her with many challenges, which she faced with unwavering faith. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Safe Alliance, (supporting victims of domestic violence) @ safealliance.org.
