Shirley Ann Day

Mrs. Shirley Ann Sutton Day, 81, of Hudson passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 at College Pines Health and Rehabilitation following a period of declining health.

Shirley was born February 9, 1945 in Caldwell County to the late Howard Sutton and Bessie Parton Sutton. She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Eugene Day; son, Anthony “Andy” Day; brother, Howard Sutton, Jr.; and friend, Richard Yarbrough.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Rev. Geoff Day and wife Angie of Hudson; Reggie Day and wife Brandy of Hudson; daughter-in-law, Donna Day of Hudson; sister-in-law, Linda Sutton of Happy Valley; grandchildren, Landon Day and wife Tori of Hudson, Grayson Day and wife Reagan of Hudson, Amber Jump and husband Jake of Wisconsin, Caleb Day and girlfriend Layah Cogdell of Hudson, Maicy Day and boyfriend Zach Wade of Hudson; and Shelby Day; great grandchildren, Lawson Day, Lincoln Wade, Jaxxston Jump, and Korbin Jump;

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 2:00PM to 3:00PM at Clearview Baptist Church.

The funeral service will begin at 3:00PM in the Sanctuary of Clearview Baptist Church with the Rev. Geoff Day officiating.

Interment will follow at Worship Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
