Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Raby

Rebecca (Becky) Lynn Raby passed away peacefully at Amorem Forlines hospice in Hudson, NC August 4, 2026. She had been fiercely fighting cancer since mid-October 2025. She can rest now until we all hear the trumpet sound, signaling the return of our Savior.

Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Jennings. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Wilma Raby, born to them on March 10, 1958, in Lenoir, NC, and she lived there all of her life.

She is survived by her two children, Daniel Craig and Madison (Andreas) Douglas; four granddaughters, Ivy, Abby, Elizabeth and Dannielle Craig; three sisters, Janice Barrier, Sherry White, and Cindy (Tim) Bumgardner, and two brothers, Allen (Connie) Raby and Billy Raby. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and other beloved family members and close friends - especially her Kim.

Becky loved her Lord Jesus Christ, her family and pretty much anyone that came into her life. She became very close to her late husband’s cat, Mr. Whiskers, but he recently passed away also - leaving another hole in her heart. She forgave easily and never held a grudge. She was so much fun to be around, even after she got sick with brain cancer. She had a shopping addiction - mostly thrift stores and clearance racks and loved finding items for any and all family members. She was a member of Wildwood Advent Christian Church, where she loved to help and serve whenever given the opportunity. Becky had an early career in cosmetology, which she continued to love doing, and later worked as a leather cutter in upholstery. During her childhood she was the artist in the family. She was very talented in that area also. Becky touched a lot of lives during her cancer battle. She loved talking to anyone who would listen, and especially if someone seemed to be needing some encouragement. She will be greatly missed by all the people who loved her.

A funeral service to honor Becky’s life will be held on Thursday August 6, 2026, at 2 PM inside the Sanctuary of Wildwood Advent Christian Church with Pastor Rodney Raby officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 PM to 2 PM at the church.

Internment will follow in the church cemetery.
