Rebecca Lynn Collins

Rebecca Lynn Collins, 65, of Lenoir passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

Rebecca was born December 17, 1959 in Burke County to Mrs. Barbara Jean Yount Gilbert and the late William Kenneth Johnson, Jr.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her step-father, Leroy Gilbert; grandmother, Kitty Mae Yount Lail; and uncle Dwight Douglas Yount.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Eric Gilbert of Lenoir; mother, Barbara Gilbert of Granite Falls; sister, Kitty Hodges and husband Darrick of Lenoir; and fiancé, Don Watson of Lenoir.

Rebecca’s leaves behind a legacy of love which will continue on in the lives of other families. Her heroic choice to be an organ donor saved five individuals.
