Randell Scott Day

Randell Scott “Randy” Day, 62, of Hudson, departed this life to his heavenly home unexpectedly on Saturday March 14, 2026 at his residence.

Randy was born on November 20, 1963 in Caldwell County to the late Ivery Dermont Day and Susan Campbell Day. He was a devoted employee of MDI for many years, and he loved the outdoors, where he found much joy and relaxation in fishing. Randy cherished his family, dedicating his life to their happiness and well-being. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Donna Sides Day of the home; his son, Tyler Shew and wife Morgan of Collettesiville; his grandchildren, Aiden Kindley, Nickolas Shew, Delaney Shew, and Waylon Triplet; his brother, Jerome Day of Lenoir; his sister-in-laws, Lisa Sides of Morganton, Jan Peterson of Conover and Kim Sides of Morganton; and other special family members, Teresa Pritchard and Debbie Bumgarner.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, David Day and his nephew, Mason Triplet.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls.

A Funeral Service will follow on Thursday March 19, 2026 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls, with Rev. Brady Adkins officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
