To Monty heaven was a quiet tree stand at sunrise or a calm lake at dawn. He was an exceptionally skilled hunter and fisherman who possessed a deep respect for the woods and waters. Whether tracking game in the late autumn chill or waiting for a bite on the water, he was entirely in his element when surrounded by nature. Many of his family's finest memories were made alongside him around a campfire, sharing stories, laughter, and the quiet peace of the wilderness.
Beyond his love for the outdoors, Monty loved his family. He passed down his passion for nature, his strong work ethic, and his sharp sense of humor to his children. He taught them not just how to hunt and fish, but how to navigate life with patience, resilience, and appreciation for the simple things.
A celebration of Monty’s life will be held at Mount Harmony Church (7967 Mount Harmony Road, Connelly Springs, NC 28612) on Saturday June 27 at 2:00 pm, with receiving of friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and the service immediately following at 2:00pm with Pastor Darren Smith officiating.
