Michael Eugene Watson Jr.

Michael Eugene “Big Mike” Watson, Jr., age 46, of Lenoir, was tragically taken from us on Monday January 26, 2026 at his residence, a victim of a senseless act of violence.

Mike was born on May 18, 1979 in Caldwell County the son of Michael Eugene Watson, Sr. of China Grove, and Audrey Crump Robbins of Lenoir. Michael worked in the grocery industry for many years, and his life was a testament to his open heart and his love for people. He embraced every person he met, offering kindness and love without reservation. His greatest joy came from his two daughters, who were his world and the lights of his life. Mike was a passionate outdoorsman, and found peace in nature and loved all animals, especially his canine companion “Baby” and his feline “Mars”. Mike found serenity whether fishing or simply appreciating Gods creations.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughters, Jayden Watson and Jordan Watson, both of Lenoir; the mother of his children, Kristine Edwards of Lenoir; his sister, Cathy Lipford and husband Shaun of Lenoir; his step-father, Eddie Robbins of Lenoir; his siblings, Julie Robbins and David Robbins both of Lenoir; his niece and nephew, Amy Lipford and Tavian Lipford; and numerous cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Amy Marie Crump and his grandmother, Georgia Adams.

A Service of Remembrance will be held and announced as the arrangements are finalized.
