Michael Lee Moss

Michael Lee Moss, 71, of Granite Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, at his residence.

Michael was born on June 2, 1954, in McDowell, North Carolina, to the late Frank Moss and Lois Ashby.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his sister Becky Dills.

Michael Moss dedicated nearly two decades of his career to Forbes Printing Co. in Lenoir, where he took great pride in his work and the accomplishments he achieved during his time there. His commitment and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on both colleagues and friends. Michael was best known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a smile that could light up any room. He had a special gift for bringing joy to those around him and creating lasting memories with everyone he met. A passionate sports fan, Michael loved spending time watching his favorite teams, the Atlanta Braves, the Carolina Panthers, and the Carolina Tar Heels basketball team, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. Above all, Michael was a devoted family man. He loved his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. His kindness, laughter, and love will be remembered always by those who knew him best.

Those left to cherish Michael’s memories include his two children, Jason Moss and wife Tammy of Granite Falls, and Leah Carlton and husband Wes of Granite Falls; And grandchildren Ryan Moss, Sawyer Moss, and Isaiah Carlton of Granite Falls.
