Michael Curtis Lunsford

Michael Curtis Lunsford, 62, of Rhodhiss passed away on June 28, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. Lunsford was born on August 28, 1963, to the late Eddie Lunsford and Dorothy Benfield Lunsford. Michael was a man with many passions and a deep appreciation for life's simple blessings. He found peace and joy in the mountains, loved spending time bass fishing, and had a lifelong fascination with genealogy, always eager to learn more about his family's history. Michael was known for his kind and friendly spirit, never meeting a stranger and always willing to share a smile or a conversation. Above all, Michael was a devoted man of faith. His love for the Lord guided his life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and quiet strength he shared with everyone he met. Mr. Lunsford is proceeded in death by his mother and father.

Those left to cherish the memory of Michael include his siblings; Kenneth Lunsford and wife Sherrie of Granite Falls, Patti Smith and husband Charles of Asheboro, Sharon Hudgins of Granite Falls, Kim Mitchelltree and husband Mark of Vale. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
