Lewis Summerow

Lewis “Bo” Summerow, 73 of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away peacefully April 23, 2026 at his home.

Born on November 12, 1952 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late William Davis Summerow and Betty Jean Summerow.

Lewis, known to friends and family as “Bo”, spent much of his life working in the furniture industry until declining health led to his disability. He was a man of simple joys and deep faith. Bo loved reading the bible and talking about the Lord, something that brought him great comfort and purpose throughout his life, even as dementia began to take its toll.

He found peace in the outdoors, especially while trout fishing in the North Carolina mountains. Some of his favorite places included Foscoe and Price Park.

Bo will be remembered for his love of God, and the special memories he created with those closest to him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years next month, Brenda White Summerow; his children, Amber Summerow, Justin Summerow and wife Chalsey; Chris Summerow, Nicole Summerow, Julie Summerow, Tony Summerow and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Brooks Summerow and too many others to list by name; his sisters, Joyce Rector and husband Lloyd; and Sharon Blackden and husband Eric; and a nephew, Jordan Summerow.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, David Summerow and Dale Summerow.

The family will receive friends on Monday April 27, 2026 from 3:00-4:00 P.M. at Oxford Memorial Baptist Church, 2889 Old NC Hwy. 90 in Taylorsville, NC.

Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 4:00 P.M. on Monday at Oxford Memorial Baptist Church, with Rev. Neal Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Oxford Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers are accepted and appreciated or memorials may be made to the charity of ones own choice.
