Leonard Devon Teague, 93, of Granite Falls, went home to be with his Lord on Friday July 3, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. Teague was born on September 3, 1932, in Alexander County to the late Ioma Teague. He was a man of deep faith, unwavering patriotism, and a servant's heart. Throughout his life, he was known for his willingness to help others, his devotion to his community, and his love for his family.

Leonard attended Taylorsville High School before he proudly answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Serving as a military policeman, he was also recognized as a proud Atomic Veteran.

After returning home from military service he graduated from Clevenger College School of Business in Hickory. Leonard went on to make his home in the community. He loved and dedicated himself to serving others in countless ways. He served as chaplain of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), was a lifetime member of the American Legion, a member of the Caldwell County Honor Guard, and a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 251. Professionally, many knew him as a Caldwell County Building Inspector, where he earned the respect and friendship of countless coworkers and residents through his integrity, kindness, and dedication.

Above all, Mr. Teague was a faithful Christian, a devoted family man, and a proud American. He was a longtime, faithful member of Ebenezer Methodist Church, where he served in numerous leadership roles, including Lay Leader, Treasurer, Trustee, and Sunday School teacher. His steadfast faith, commitment to service, and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mr. Teague is proceeded in death by his mother, Brothers; Buret Teague and George Teague; his unnamed infant daughter and his In-Laws Ray and Elnora Williams.

Those left to cherish the memory of Mr. Teague are, his wife of 74 years, Jeanette Teague of the home, daughters; Sharon Bowman and husband Marvin of Granite Falls and Kathy Hambrick and Husband Greg of Duluth GA; Grandchildren, Joshua Bowman and wife Jessica of Hudson, David Hambrick and wife Siara of Cumming GA, Kelle Bowman Gilbert and husband Joshua of Granite Falls, Major Jacob Hambrick of Fairbanks AK and Katelyn Hambrick of Alpharetta GA, Great-Grandchildren; Colt Bowman, Maggie Bowman of Hudson, Dawsyn Hampton. Milo Hambrick and Rhys Hambrick of Cumming GA, and a future baby Gilbert that is due in December. Also Surviving are three special nieces; Barbara Teague of Taylorsville, Delma Williams Harris of Granite Falls and Celeste Williams of Granite Falls.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday July 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM inside the chapel of Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls, with Rev. Rob Evans and Rev. Eric Lane officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at Mackie Funeral Service.

Inurnment will follow in the Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery, Military Honors will be presented by the North Carolina National Guard.
