Larry Allen Baker, 81, of Conover, passed away peacefully on Friday October 24, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

Larry was born on November 5, 1943 in Catawba County to the late Earl Victor Baker and Jessie Punch Baker. He was a dedicated self-employed farmer who found immense joy and satisfaction in working the land. His passion for farming was evident in everything he did, from tending to his crops to maintaining his beloved tractors. Larry was a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover, and he loved the Lord.

Those left to cherish his memory include his two children, Jeremy Allen Baker and wife Shelley of Conover and Jason Baker of Granite Falls; four grandchildren, Kaylee Boyle and partner Dylan of Conover, Corey Allen Baker and partner Katelyn Blackburn of Hudson, Julieann Jessie Baker of Conover and Azlyn Grace Raines of Conover; he is also survived by his beloved dog Missy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday October 29, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover, with Rev. Anton Lagoutine officiating. Interment will follow the service in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
