Lacy Thomas Barkley

Lacy Thomas Barkley, 79, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Amorem of Valdese, following a period of declining health.

Lacy was born on January 31, 1947, to the late James Thomas Barkley and Evelyn Gordon Fesperman. Throughout his life, Lacy served with honor in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, a commitment to duty that defined his character. Following his service, he applied that same dedication and precision to his crafdt as a skilled auto mechanic. His work reflected a life spent using his hands, sharing his skills, and making a living through honest work. His service to his country will remain an important part of his legacy.

Above all, Lacy leaves behind a family and loved ones who will carry his memory with them. Though his passing brings sadness, the memories shared with him will continue to hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Lacy was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Barkley and Evelyn Gordon Fesperman.

Those left to cherish the memory of Lacy include his sons, Dwayne Barkley and Lacey Barkley; his daughter, Abbey Leden; and his special friend, Jon Walker.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held by his family and friends.
