Karla Jeanne Woody

Karla Jeanne Paul Woody, 68, of Lenoir, passed away peacefully on Friday October 23, 2026 at Amorem Hospice Center of Burke following a period of declining health.

Karla was born on June 20, 1958 in Tulsa, OK to the late Raymond Doyle Paul and Jeanette Cox Beck. She served as a detention officer and medical technician for the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, practiced as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and contributed to the team at Kelley’s Sports in Hudson. Karla was a devoted member of The Real Church, where she found profound joy and fulfillment in sharing her musical talents as a pianist. Outside of her work and church, Karla had a deep love for horses and her beloved fur babies, often saying they were what made life worth living. She also enjoyed crafting, finding happiness in creating things with her hands and putting her own personal touch into everything she made.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Cathy Woods; her step-mother, Jo Paul; and her step-father, Henry Beck.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Morris Lambert Woody of the home; her children, Jonathan Woody and wife Tori of Lenoir and Lacey Woody and spouse Brandon Meadows of Asheville; her grandson, Hunter Woody; her brother, Randy Paul of Lenoir; Aunt; Joyce Cox Williams, and her lifelong friend, Cynthia Presnell, Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
