Joseph Cameron" Chaney

Joseph “Cameron” Chaney, 39, of Hudson, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 at Amorem Hospice in Hudson following a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Cameron was born May 7, 1987 in Guilford County, NC to Billy Joe Chaney and Denise Hunsley Chaney. He worked at Food Lion for eighteen years serving in a variety of roles during his time there.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Joe and Louise Chaney; mother-in-law, Kimberly Haigler; and grandmother-in-law, Barbara Earp.

Those left to cherish his memory include his life partner, Caitlin Haigler of the home; his son, Roman Chaney of the home; parents, Billy and Denise Chaney of Reidsville, NC; brother, Brandon Chaney of Eden, NC; sister -in-law, Jessica Derosier and husband Bryant of Granite Falls; nephew, Jack Brakefield; niece, Josie Brakefield; and grandfather-in-law, Benny Earp of Hudson.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 7, from 5:00PM to 6:00PM at Mackie Funeral Service.

A memorial service will follow at 6:00PM in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with the Rev. Gregory Cline officiating.
