Jimmy Earl Moody

Jimmy Earl Moody, 55, of Granite Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at his residence.

Jimmy was born on March 28, 1971, in Snow Hill, NC. He was employed by Bernhardt Furniture in Plant 4 and attended Poovey’s Grove Baptist Church. Jimmy was loved dearly and will be missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by Vergie Kirk of Galax, Virginia and Frances Summerlin of Granite Falls.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rosa Maria Summerlin Moody of Granite Falls; his mother, Linda Moody and Richard Grant of Granite Falls; his children, Carrie Ann and Charles Vasquez of Orange Park, Florida, Jonathan Moody of Florida, Timothy Moody of Orange Park, Florida, Summer Box and Justin Kiever of Dublin, Georgia, Mari and Gani Imeri of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, Miguel and Tiffany Romero of Blackshear, Georgia, and Amanda Rodriguez and Benjamin Vega of Granite Falls; his grandchildren, Kash, Theia and Charlotte Kever of Dublin, Georgia, Bethany and Sophia Vasquez of Orange Park, Florida, Emilia and Abigail Adkins of Orange Park, Florida, Blerton, Dezemil and Hamza Imeri of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, Miguel Andres Romero Junior of Blackshear, Georgia, Janayla Jackson, Benjamin DeAngelo, and Ian Jaxiel Vega all of Granite Falls; his aunts, Caroline and Larry Harvey, Joyce Dean and Steve Baily of Hampton, Virginia; his father-in-law, Charles Summerlin of Granite Falls; his sisters-in-law, Pamela Church of Granite Falls and Cynthia and Joe Lovelace of Granite Falls; his nieces and nephews, Heather Lovelace and Tim Bott of Hickory, Misty Hughes and Jonathon Finch of Newton, Joseph Lovelace of Granite Falls, Christopher and Monica James Lovelace of Hickory, James Church of Lenoir, Alyssa Church and Mat Repass of Hickory; also surviving are his great-nieces and nephews, Maliya and Aniyah Hughes of Newton, Caylin Hughes of Bunnlevel, Kadence Istvan of Hickory, and Aubrey and Sawyer Repass of Hickory; and his cousins, John Jr. Moody and Diane Kirk.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 1:00-1:45 PM at Poovey’s Grove Baptist Church.

A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM on Sunday October 11th, at Poovey’s Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Nathan Key, Pastor Rick Crouse, and Rev. Charles Summerlin officiating.
