Jay Carlos Fenner

Mr. Jay Carlos Fenner, 64, of Lenoir entered into eternal rest on October 13, 2026, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir.

Jay was born on January 23, 1962, in Carter Tennessee to the late George Fenner and Dorothy Mann Fenner. He was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved tinkering and working with his hands, especially when it came to woodworking and fixing things. Music held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed playing instruments and sharing his love of music with others. He also enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and spending precious time with his family, who meant the world to him. Whether he was working on a project, enjoying his favorite hobbies, or making memories with loved ones, he brought his own special spirit to everything he did. He will be remembered for his many interests, his love for his family, and the lasting memories he leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother and father Jay is preceded in death by his siblings Earlene Summerow and Charles Fenner.

Those left to cherish the memory of Jay include his loving wife Kathy Scarberry of the Home, Children; Larry Fenner and wife Jessica of Lenoir, Jacob Fenner and wife Caitlyn of Lenoir, Julie Fenner, Beth Tester and Connie Townsend. Grand-Children; Samantha Lewis, Abigail Fenner, Lillian Fenner, John Rodriguez, Joanna Rodriguez, John Tester Elijah Tester and Logan Scarberry all of Lenoir.

A Memorial service to celebrate the life Jay lived will be held on Friday October 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM inside the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls with Pastor James Wilfong officiating.
