Mr. Jackson “Jack” Percy Milligan, 85, of Granite Falls passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Frye Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Jack was born November 25, 1939 in Burke County, a son to the late Frank Milligan and Eliza Yount Milligan. He retired from General Electric after thirty years of employment. Following his retirement he owned a used car business. In his free time, Jack could often be found on Lake Hickory fishing or spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid reader; enjoying mostly westerns and mysteries.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Frank Milligan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lillie Roseman Milligan of the home; children, Ronnie Milligan and Vickie of Morganton, Connie Nix and husband Rick of Morganton, Jackie Wesson and husband Doug of Conover, and Mona Huffman and husband Jerry of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Kaliegh Milligan and wife Meredith Stutts of Newton, Kinsey Ward of Morganton, Jackson Milligan of Morganton, Joey Nix of Morganton, Matt Nix of Morganton, Anna Church of Morganton, Ashley Posey and husband Terry of Conover, Hayley Varin and husband Roger of Greenville, SC, Savannah Caldwell and husband John of Claremont, and Hannah Huffman of Conover; great grandchildren, Jedediah Ward, Jude Ward, Jackson Church, Kinsley Church, Carleigh Caldwell and Dean Caldwell; sister, Effie Hefner of Charlotte; and niece, Alva Yandle of Charlotte. Also surviving is his special K9 companion, June Bug.

A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, October 26, 2025 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with Alva Yandle officiating.
