Iris Cannon Marley

Iris Cannon Marley, 67, of Hudson, passed away on Saturday February 28, 2026 at her home following a period of declining health.

Iris was born on March 30, 1958 in Caldwell County, to the late Robert Rufus Cannon and Mable Chester Cannon. Iris was a graduate of Hudson High School, was a homemaker, and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Thomas Marley; her brother, Dewey Cannon; and her sister, Bonnie Cannon.

Siblings who cherish her memory are her sisters, Lorie “Sis” Cannon of Hudson, Tracy Moore and husband Bryan of Lenoir, Pearl “Cricket” Ekard of Hudson, and Doris Gragg, of Hudson; her brothers, Louis Cannon and wife Karen of Lenoir and Charlie Cannon and wife Jane of Hudson. An extended family of nieces and nephews will all be honoring and remembering the life of Iris.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 7, 2026 at Refuge Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Larry Marley and Pastor Steve Coonse officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunrise Baptist Church Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Johnny.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Refuge Missionary Baptist Church.
