Geraldine Trivette Wood

Geraldine Trivette Wood, 79, of Granite Falls, departed this life to her heavenly home on Friday October 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

Geraldine was born on March 18, 1946 in Caldwell County to the late Donald Edwin Trivette, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Holden Trivette. Geraldine dedicated many years of her life as a self-employed beautician after graduating from cosmetology school. She was a cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and lovingly carried on the tradition of Sunday dinners, reminiscent of those from her own mothers home. Her family oriented spirit will be remembered by her family and all who knew her. She was a long time and faithful member of Grandview Park Baptist Church, where she found strength and love in her faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wood, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Crystal Church, Ann Oakley Turner, Mikael Smith and Jeffery Smith; her grandchildren, Andrew Church, Lindsay McKee, Kaitlin Prestwood and Brianna Laney; also surviving are eight great-grandchildren, and one on the way.

The family will receive friends Monday October 20, 2025 at Grandview Park Baptist Church in Lenoir from 4:30-6:00 P.M.

A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 P.M. on Monday October 20, 2025 at Grandview Park Baptist Church, with Pastor Raymond Spann officiating.

A Private Graveside Service will be held by the family at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Richard.
