Garry Kenneth Stanbury

Mr. Garry Kenneth Stanbury, 74, of Granite Falls passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026 at his home following a period of declining health.

Garry was born September 20, 1951 in Boone, NC to the late Perry Stanbury and Janice May Stanbury. He owned and operated Stanbury Recycling and Automotive where he worked as a mechanic.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Stanbury; and son, J.R. Walsh.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Gina Wallace Stanbury of the home; children, Amy Haney, Kenneth Hendrix, and Melissa Walsh; grandchildren, Noah Haney (Bryanna), Carrington Haney, Charles Hendrix (Casey), Ashley Simmons (Brandon), Jasmine Hendrix, Allen Walsh, Landon Walsh, Justin Parlier, Mikayla Garnes and Kristen Barr; great grandchildren, Holden Parlier, Ayden Parlier, Rilynn Barr, Mason Simmons, and Colson Simmons; siblings, Marcie Greene, Vetty Woodruff, Jan Johnston, Edgar Stanbury (Kim), Scott Stanbury (Madeline), and Keith Stanbury.

A memorial service will be held 1:00PM Thursday, March 5, 2026 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service.

The family will receive friends following the service at Mackie Funeral Service.
