Dirk Terence Shytle

Dirk Terence Shytle, 65, a beacon of laughter and kindness, passed away on Saturday November 8, 2025 at Amorem-Forlines Patient Care Unit following a period of declining health.

Dirk was born on January 17, 1960 in Catawba County to the late Dewey Jerome Shytle and Nadean Hoyle Shytle.  

Dirk dedicated many years as a security guard for Bassett Furniture, but above all, Dirk loved his family and cherished his relationship with the Lord. In his free time, Dirk found immense joy in working on cars, watching thrilling drag races, and enjoyed going to car shows where others displayed their antique cars.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, David Shytle and wife Sherry of Hudson; two children, Ryan and Alicia; and two granddaughters.

In honoring Dirk’s memory, the family will hold a private service to celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Dirk's memory be made to Robbins Center-Forlines Patient Care Unit, 526 Pine Mountain Rd. Hudson, NC 28638.
