Connie Hyde Powers

Connie Hyde Powers, 67, of Claremont, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Amorem Hospice Care Center following a period of declining health.

Connie was born on December 25, 1958 in Swain County to the late Claude Hyde and Maude Nations Sigmon. She worked at King Hickory Furniture, and will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

Surviving are her siblings, Lisa Ferrell of Valdese, Tim Sigmon of Connelly Springs, Randy Queen of Nebraska, Betty Huffman of Connelly Springs, Steve Sigmon of Claremont and Patricia Woody of Claremont,and Kathy Dean of Baton; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

At Connie's request, there will be a private service.
