Christopher Wayne Sexton

Mr. Christopher Wayne Sexton, 40, of Lenoir passed away January 25, 2026 at his home following a period of declining health.

Christopher was born June 21, 1985 in Boone, NC to Gwendolyn DeBause and the late Robert Wayne Sexton. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. Christopher took great pride in his work at MGM Construction, where he was employed as a brick mason.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Chris T. DeBause, paternal grandfather, Worley Sexton; and uncle, Mike Sexton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his fiancé, Shanda Eddy of Lenoir; mother, Gwendolyn DeBause and Sherry Burleson of Lenoir; son, Michael Sexton; brothers, Nick Browning of Lenoir and Eddie Jones of Rhodhiss; step father, Wayne Browning of Lenoir; maternal grandmother, Rosemary Hamre of Butner, NC; paternal great grandmother, Barbara Sexton of Mountain City, TN; uncle David Sexton of Mountain City, TN , and aunt, Brenda Sexton of Mountain City, TN.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
