Carrie Jackson McGhinnis

Carrie Jane Jackson McGhinnis, 65, of Gaffney, SC formerly of Granite Falls, passed away Wednesday September 3, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. McGhinnis was born on December 28, 1959 in California to the late Elbert Thomas Jackson and Merita Gene Fields Jackson. She was retired from Sample House in Hickory as a sewer for many years. Her life was marked by her deep affection for animals, especially cats and dogs, whom she loved dearly. As a devoted wife and mother, she poured her heart into her family, always putting their needs first and finding joy in doing things for them.

Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. In addition to her love for her family and animals, Carrie was a wonderful cook, and she delighted in preparing delicious meals for those she loved.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bobby Lee McGhinnis; her son, Larry McGhinnis; and her granddaughter, Kasey McGhinnis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jackie Malone and husband Jerry of Gaffney, SC; her grandsons, Garrett Blevins, Jacob Byrd, Chad McGhinnis, Shane McGhinnis and Brandon McGhinnis; one granddaughter, Misty Potter; and four siblings, Lorita Jackson, Anita Jackson, Diana Hudson and Thomas Jackson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday September 9, 2025 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls, with Rev. Dr. Josh Lail officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Bobby.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls.
