Bruce Darrell Williams, 72, of Granite Falls, departed this life to his heavenly home surrounded by his loving family on Friday July 3, 2026 at his home.

Bruce was born on July 22, 1953 in Caldwell County, to the late Ralph Vernon Williams and Ruth Bumgarner Williams. He was a dedicated member of the maintenance team at J & S Services in Hickory, where his work and friendly demeanor were well known by all.

Burce was a man of many passions, chief among them was his love for hunting and the outdoors. He was a true friend to all, embodying the spirit that he never met a stranger, and his warm personality touched countless lives. His family was the cornerstone of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Bruce was blessed with crafty hands and a wealth of knowledge, always ready to tackle a project or share his wisdom. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and his playful spirit and knack for making people laugh brought joy to many. Bruce will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cindy Miller Williams of the home; his children, Mark Williams and wife Chasty of Granite Falls, Mandie Gilbert of Hudson, Lisa Metcalf of Granite Falls and son-in-law, Monty Puett of Granite Falls; his brother, Rex Eugene Williams and wife Joanne of Granite Falls; his sisters, Margie Oaks and husband Paul of Hickory and Peggy Harmon and husband Dee of Morganton; also surviving is a special granddaughter, Tosha Blevins and nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a special family friend, Rose Phillips of Granite Falls.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Bruce Dixon Williams; and his siblings, Benny Allen Williams, Wayne Clay Williams and Debbie Marie Mahon.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday July 8, 2026 at Rock Chapel Church of God in Granite Falls, with Pastor Destry Blevins officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Rock Chapel Church of God in Grantie Falls.
