Mr. Bruce Avery Wallace, 91, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, at Amorem Forlines Patient Care Unit in Hudson.
Bruce entered this world on January 17, 1935, in Caldwell County to the late Charles Russell Wallace and Coyt Bean Wallace. Bruce attended Granite Falls High School before continuing his education at Lenoir-Rhyne University and later at Northrop Aeronautical Institute in Inglewood, California. He proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959. Following his military service, Bruce began a fulfilling career as an aeronautical engineer, first with Lockheed in Smyrna, Georgia, and later with Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Georgia. His intelligence, dedication, and strong work ethic were evident throughout his professional life. Bruce was a devoted member of the Cedar Valley Ruritan Club and faithfully attended Center Grove Baptist Church for 30 years. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he sought to honor Christ in all that he did. Bruce was a faithful and kind man and a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was one of the sweetest, most intelligent, and considerate men anyone could know. He had a remarkable way of caring for others, always providing for, protecting, encouraging, and promoting those whom God had entrusted to his care. Bruce lived his life with quiet strength, genuine compassion, and unwavering faith. He was a true Christ-honoring man whose love for his family, friends, and Savior was evident in the way he lived each day. His legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
In addition to his mother and father Bruce is proceeded in death by his younger brother; Charles Raymond Wallace and younger sister; Brenda Wallace.
Those left to cherish the memory of Bruce include his wife of 63 years; Elizabeth “Betty” Anne Thompson Wallace, Daughter; Elizabeth “Beth” Anne Wallace Peterson of Guyton Georgia, Son in-law; Kent “Pete” Peterson, Grandchildren; Caroline “Carrie” Peterson and Margaret “Meg” Peterson of Guyton Georgia, Son; Brian Alexander Wallace of Kingwood Texas; Daughter in-law, Kelly Phillips Wallace, Granddaughter; Claire Wallace Ward and husband John of Arlington Virginia, Grandson; Brice Everett Wallace of Tyler Texas. Also surviving is his younger sister Kay Francis Wallace of Hudson.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Center Grove Baptist Church in Hudson.
