Barbara Baker Wilkey

Barbara Baker Wilkey, 84, of Granite Falls, departed this life to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Carolina Rehab following a brief illness.

Barbara was born on September 16, 1941, in Caldwell County to the late Fields Clarence Baker and Ella Greene Baker. She was a dedicated administrative secretary in the textile industry for many years. A longtime member of First Baptist Church in Grantie Falls, she expressed her faith through her beautiful voice in the church choir.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joe Donald Wilkey of the home; her daughter, Ella Stone and husband Jim of Granite Falls; her grandson, Samuel Stone of Granite Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls.

A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 P.M. Saturday at Sunset Hills Cemetery, with Rev. Rob Evans officiating.
