Anna Carden Sparks

Anna Geraldine Carden Sparks, 82, went home to be with her Lord on Monday October 20, 2025 at Autumn Care Nursing Center following a lengthy illness.

Anna was born on April 5, 1943 in Carter County, TN to the late Croy Carden and Leila Mae Guinn Carden. She retired from Broughton Hospital in the dietary department, where she nourished many with her kindness and cooking. Beyond her work, she lovingly babysat children, earning the affection of many families. Raising three daughters, she poured her heart into motherhood and was cherished by her children and grandchildren.

Anna’s passions included flowers, gardening, and animals, but most of all she loved the Lord. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she was a long-time member of Mount Home Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Starring and husband George, Teresa Byrd and husband Troy, and Tammy Curtis; her grandchildren, Amanda Starring, Matthew Curtis and wife Lexie, Morgan Curtis and wife Caroline, and Christian Burleson; one brother, Danny Carden; and two sisters, Mary King and Joyce Beam.

A family only Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday October 23, 2025 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Morganton.
