Abigail Hope Farmer, age 31, of Granite Falls, passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2026, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.
Abigail was born on March 23, 1995, at Valdese General Hospital to Tate Farmer and Teresa Day Cannon.
Today we honor a devoted mother, a cherished daughter, and a selfless soul who lived with an open heart. Though she faced and survived many hardships and setbacks in her young life, she never lost her optimism or her innate ability to see the absolute best in everyone she met. She never met a stranger and had a ready smile for anyone and everyone. She was the kind of person who would pull over for someone walking in the rain or on a clear day just to show them that someone cared enough to give them a ride. She was intelligent, courageous, compassionate, and full of wonder, always asking questions and seeking to understand the world around her. Most of all, her heart belonged to her daughters, Clara and Ness. Her greatest purpose was to be the best parent possible, teaching her girls to be kind, polite, and respectful through the everyday example of her own actions. She gave them everything because she truly believed they deserved nothing less than the best. Her fiancé Chris, who she has loved since she was ten years old, remembers her radiant and loving spirit, credits her with being the strength that has taught him to be the man he is today, and wants her to know that he is filled with pride for her. Even though she was taken from us far too soon, her legacy of warmth and generosity endures. We are beyond grateful that she chose to make the gift of organ donation; it brings us profound peace to know that a part of her lives on through the lives she is helping today.
Abigail is preceded in death by her sister, Vanessa Renee Farmer; maternal grandparents, Lois Day and Dewey Day; and Paternal Grandparents, Max Farmer and Twinkle Farmer.
Those left to cherish the memory of Abigail include her Father, Tate Farmer, and partner Tammy English of Lexington, Ky; mother, Teresa Cannon, of the home; Abigail’s fiancé, Christapher Dula, and their Children, Vanessa Dula and Clara Dula of Bethlehem, as well as their stepchildren, Trae Dula and Daigen Dula of Granite Falls.
