Johnny Mark Wellman
Mark Wellman, 51, of Lawndale, NC, departed this life and gained his heavenly wings on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Blue Ridge Health Care, Morganton.
Mark was born January 21, 1969, in Cleveland County. He was the son of the late Lorine Towery Wellman and Johnny Paul Wellman
Mark worked for MDI in Hickory for 33 years, during this time Mark met a lot of great friends. He was a dedicated Denver Broncos fan and he loved playing drums. During his time here he also had three fur babies, Dinker, Sammy, and Butterscotch, that will miss him dearly. Mark had a heart of gold but to sum it up he was simply the best.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cecil Johnny and Helen Leona Cook Wellman and his Maternal Grandma, Carrie Ada Towery.
In addition to his father, Mark is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Tammy Young Wellman; his brother, Cecil Paul Wellman of Lawndale; his Mother-in-law, Shirley Young, of Granite Falls; Sister-in-law, Kimberly Young of Granite Falls; Niece, Hunter Church of Granite Falls and his nephew, Logan Church of Granite Falls.
The Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at Mackie Funeral Service.
A Home going celebration will follow at 7:30 P.M. in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with Pastor Charles Littlejohn, Pastor Shannon Wingate, and Pastor Raul Hernandez officiating.
