Obituary

Ruby Medford Martin
Ruby Martin, 93, of Ellenboro went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Hospice. She was born August 20, 1927, daughter of the late John and Leona Greene Medford.
Ruby was retired from Fieldcrest Mills. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Women’s Group. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing word searches, and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Wilbur G. Martin; three sisters, Valerie Hawkins, Hazel Padgett and Loretta Bradley.
Those left to cherish her memory are four daughters, JoAnn Knepp (Russ) of Hickory, Vickie Redwine (Tom) of Candler, Rita Stanley (Mike) of Forest City, Polly Stanbury, (Cliff) of Candler; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Corinth Baptist Church. The funeral will begin at 3:00 PM with Rev. Ad Hopper officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Baptist Church at 767 Pinehurst Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040 or Hospice Carolina Foothills at 374 Hudlow Road, Forest City, NC 28043.

Ruby was always my "other Mom". I loved visiting with her and reminiscing about our days playing softball at church. She was a wonderful lady!!
